BAHÁ’I FAITH
I am a follower of the Bahai Faith and there are a few references in the rest of this website so here is a short introduction to what it is all about.
The Bahai faith is an independent, worldwide religion. Its distribution on earth is second only to Christianity, even though there are only about seven million believers. We believe:
- in the Oneness of God - there is only One God who created us all and is the same God worshipped by all religions.
- in the Oneness of Religions- that all religions come from the same Great Source and their fundamental teachings are the same. Any difference of conduct and belief come from social or historic circumstances.
- in the Oneness of Humanity - the unity of the human race - without this unity we are lost.
‘The wellbeing of mankind its peace and security are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established.’ So wrote Bahá’u’lláh the Founder of the Baha’i Faith.

The Baha’i Faith is now governed by a world body of nine members that is elected every five years by the 150 or so elected national assemblies of world community of the Baha’i Faith.
